Luis was born to Luis Alonzo Herrera and Miquelina Aurora Silva on June 2, 1995 in Selma, California. To honor and remember the life of Luis Alonzo Herrera Jr., affectionately known to us as Beans or Frijoles, a name that always brought a smile to our faces and warmth to our hearts. Born on June 2, 1995, and having departed from this world on September 12, 2024, Luis's journey, though shorter than we had hoped, was one filled with love, laughter, and an indomitable spirit that touched all who knew him. As Luis's mother, standing here is both the hardest and the proudest moment of my life. Proud because of the incredible person Luis was-kind, funny, and the life of any party. Hard because no words can truly encapsulate what he meant to all of us. Luis was not just my son; he was a cherished friend, a beacon of joy, and a pillar of strength in our family. Luis had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. His love for sports, especially for the SF Giants and the KC Chiefs, was more than just a pastime; it was a reflection of his commitment and loyalty. Whether watching a game with his godfather and brother, Steven, or coaching baseball and soccer when he could, Luis's enthusiasm was infectious. His career as a DJ at Sequoia Bar in Hanford was another arena where Luis shone brightly. Through music, he brought people together, creating moments of joy and celebration that many will remember fondly. His taste in music, much like his personality, was eclectic and often the heartbeat of any gathering. Luis's journey was also one of resilience. He faced the challenge of obesity with strength and determination, never letting it dim his vibrant spirit. His love for cooking and sharing meals was a testament to his belief in the power of food to bring people together, creating memories that we will cherish forever.
