Barbara Ann Henderson Borland June 29, 1935 - February 23, 2026 Barbara Ann Henderson Borland, 90, of Hanford, California, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 23, 2026. Barbara was born on June 29, 1935, in Quail, Texas, to Daniel Edward Long and Eunice Elva Bough Long. At a young age, her family headed west, eventually settling in Laton, California, where she attended school and graduated from Laton High School in 1953. The Central Valley became the place she would call home for the rest of her life - building a life centered on family, faith, and hard work. As children, Barbara met her first husband, Donald Borland, while they played in the fields as their parents worked nearby. Their childhood friendship grew into a high school romance, and they were married on August 1, 1953. They began their life together in Salinas, California, where they shared twenty beautiful years of marriage before his passing in 1973. Together they welcomed two daughters: Belinda Lee (1959) and Janet Marie (1962). Barbara worked for many years as head of bookkeeping and accounting at Cinderella Carpets in Salinas. Later, she married her second husband, Jack Henderson, and moved to Coalinga, California, where together they started a crop dusting business. After Jack's passing in 1983, Barbara eventually moved to Hanford, continuing her work in the crop dusting business until retirement. In her later years, she returned to Laton to lovingly care for her parents until their passing. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Donald Borland and Jack Henderson; and her brothers, Melvin Long and George Long. She is survived by her sister, Gwendle (Gwen) Burks; her daughters, Belinda Lee Green and Janet Marie Da Rosa; her eight grandchildren, Donald (Karina) Williams, Amanda (Joseph) Rios, Amber (Billy) Gray, Jon Brennan Jr., Chad (Liz) Williams, Daniel Brennan, Courtney Revious, and Dustin (Leslie) Green; 19 cherished great-grandchildren; as well as four nieces and two nephews. To know Barbara was to feel welcomed. She never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel like family. Many lovingly called her "Grandma," whether related by blood or simply by heart. Her warm smile, joyful spirit, and strong, determined nature could light up a room and lift those around her. A woman of many talents, Barbara's hands were rarely still. She loved cooking - always preparing enough for a crowd because there was forever room for one more at her table. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, painting, and woodworking. If something needed to be made, fixed, or figured out, Barbara would find a way. Her creativity and resourcefulness were matched only by her generosity. Above all, Barbara was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord deeply. She was active in her church family for many years, serving faithfully in numerous roles. Her life was guided by unwavering faith, and through both joyful and difficult seasons, she remained steadfast, generous, and strong - quietly carrying others through their hardest moments. More than anything, Barbara will be remembered for the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the large and growing family she cherished, in the lessons she passed down, and in the countless lives she touched simply by being who she was. Her beautiful smile and her love for life, the Lord, and her family will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel, 1588 Lincoln Street, Kingsburg, California. A reception will follow at Kady's Kitchen in Kingsburg. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel.
