Gilbert "Gil" Ramirez October 6, 1957 - February 6, 2022 Gilbert was born October 6, 1957, to louis & Geraldine Ramirez in Fowler, California, Gil's family built & lived on a beautiful ranch in Fowler farming grapes. After graduating from High School he went on a blind date in August 1977 and met JoAnn Janzen who became his wife in 1987 and was the Love of his life for almost 45 years. We honeymooned in Kauai and had beautiful time except we had 9 days of rain. Well...9 months later we welcomed Joshua and we became a family of three. Gil enrolled and studied for the USPS Mail Carrier position for his new career move away from farming. He passed with 100% and we waited for the first town to open up with a position as a mail carrier. Gil was offered a position in Santa Maria, California. He moved us to the coast to start out our adventure as a new family of three in 1989. Gil was then offered a new position 6 years latter in Hanford, California and we moved back to the valley to be near our families. Gil enjoyed doing any & all outdoor activities. He loved gardening, riding bicycles, walking, swimming and fishing. Gil loved music of all kinds and loved singing too. He played the Guitar and Harmonica, he carried a Harmonica in his pocket for anytime requests. He passed that love of music down to his son & granddaughter. Our home always had music on and we enjoyed many concerts too. He had so many favorites it was endless. Gil was a Great Father to his son Joshua Ramirez and Father-in-law to Kayla Ramirez. He was the Best PAPA ever to his granddaughter Averie. They had a very special relationship. She loved her Papa and they played & sang almost everyday together. She was the joy of his life. Gilbert was a Father, Brother and a Uncle. He loved them all dearly. He was so proud of his nephews and nieces and all their accomplishments. Gil passed peacefully with his family at his side and went to be home with the Lord on February 6, 2022. A Graveside Service will be held at the Fowler Cemetery, located at 8523 S. Fowler Avenue, Fowler, California, on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel.
