Joan Alleen Freeman

Joan A. Freeman Joan A. Freeman passed away peacefully at home in Kingsburg, CA on October 30, 2022 at the age of 80. She was born July 16, 1942 in Kingsburg. Joan lived in the Central Valley her whole life but had a special place in her heart for Arkansas where she always enjoyed visiting her family. Those who knew Joan understood her passion to create beauty. She was able to figure out how to make almost anything with her hands. It's like there was magic in her fingertips. Everything she touched came alive because she always created with passion, patience, and love. Some may have felt the magic when they walked through the doors of The Country Homemaker in downtown Kingsburg. Others may have experienced it as they strolled through the enchanting beauty of her very own secret garden. Still others may have had the privilege to work with her or receive something she had lovingly painted, crafted, sewed, or built. The amazing artist in her was undeniable. What Joan loved and nurtured more than anything else was her family. She took the most pride in being Mama and Grandma Joanie. She truly cherished her time with her children and grandchildren and often wrote little stories and poems about them. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Freeman, son Gregory Freeman, brothers Corky Frisby, Jim Frisby, her parents Albert and Virginia Frisby and son-in-law Brian Jones. Joan leaves behind two daughters, Tricia Jones and Rose Linda Freeman, grandchildren Casey and Cristal Jones, Nathan and Tish Williams, Travis Jones, Shailey and Stephen Schmidt, and Brandon and Sonya Williams, great grandchildren Gary and Casey Jade Williams, Rachael and Jon Downes, Tryston and Jake Stewart, Cameron and Madison Fischer, Ava Jones, Tanner Jones, Eden Jones, Victoria Jones, Chase Jones, Wyatt Jones, Violet Schmidt, Clay Schmidt, Tate Schmidt, Riley Jones, and Kyle Jones. Great Great Grandchildren Jensen Downes, Emmett Downes, Elias Fischer, Joshua Fischer, Allison Williams, and Baby Stewart due soon. She also leaves behind two brothers, Monty and Steve Frisby along with their families including lots of nieces and nephews. A thank you to Bristol Hospice Care for all they have done the last few months.
