Mary Lucille Avila December 22, 1932 - December 30, 2023 Mary L. Avila of Kingsburg, CA passed to her Heavenly Father on December 30, 2023 in Visalia CA at the age of 91. Mary was born in Hanford, CA to Manuel and Eleanor Madruga on December 22, 1932. Mary was raised in Hanford and attended Hanford High School graduating in 1954. Mary worked at Gribbys General Store until meeting the love of her life George Avila. In 1955 Mary married that once in a lifetime love George Avila of Hanford, CA. They were married on May 28, 1955 by Father Balker at Holy Family Catholic Church in Kingsburg, CA. Mary and George celebrated 58 years of wedded bliss until his passing in 2013. Mary and George started their family in Hanford, CA before moving to the Armona ranch. Then they purchased their lifelong dream ranch in Kingsburg in 1962 near the Kings River. Mary was a wonderful homemaker to her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Mary was a devout member of Holy Family Catholic Church where she sang, was a lector and taught catechism. Mary was preceded in death by her husband George Avila, daughter Diana Avila, her parents Manual and Eleanor Madruga, her brother Manual Madruga JR and her twin brother Leonard Madruga. Mary is survived by her son Stephen and his wife Kim; her daughters Liz and her husband Tony Brady; Jennifer and her husband Dave Lawrence, grandchildren Jake Blodgett, Will Avila, Amber Payne, Brittney and Dylan Brady, DJ and Jason Lawrence, great-grandchildren Blake, Justin, Maddie and Hannah Avila, Tysin, Katelynn, Brooklyn and Carsin Silva, Hailey and Joey Payne, Kinsley and Adaline Lawrence and numerous nieces and nephews. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held 9:30am Thursday January 11, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1275 Smith Street, Kingsburg, CA, with the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00am. Burial will immediately follow at Kingsburg Cemetery 12782 E. Clarkson Ave. Kingsburg, CA. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel.
