Sunny Ann Johnson

Sunny Ann Olson Johnson Sunny was born on November 11, 1942, in Kingsburg, California to Elaine and Archie Olson; And on to Heaven, March 9, 2024. Ann was active in Church and Young Life at Kingsburg High School. During these years she was beginning her deep love and relationship with Jesus Christ. She married Jim Johnson on December 8, 1962. Jim and Ann attended Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland Oregon. Then they moved to Southern California where Jim attended Talbot Theological Seminary. While in Southern California, daughter Jennifer joined the family in 1966, later Jeff was born but soon after entered Heaven. The Johnsons then moved to Visalia California where Jim began to work for Young Life, and Brent was born in 1970. In Visalia, Ann served alongside Jim in Young Life and led many small group Bible studies and was a teacher with Bible Study Fellowship. Many friendships were made in Visalia that have carried on through today. The Johnsons then moved to the Santa Cruz area where Jim led Young Life and began his Counseling ministry. Again, Ann led where she was planted and she facilitated many small group Bible Studies, and taught others what she had learned from her relationship with Christ. The Johnson family then moved back to Kingsburg to Jim's Family Farm. It was there Darin was born in 1978 and Ann's love for everything outside, that her God had created, was fully seen. Each day was spent in God's word and outside on the farm and along the river. Ann's heart of service and her wish to encourage others are two of the most impactful traits about her. She continued to lead small group Bible studies, teach Sunday School at the Covenant Church with Jim, and even went back to serving as a Young Life leader in the late 80's and early 90's. She and Jim worked on bringing Christ into their marriage and family. Their marriage reflected mutual admiration, dedication, and commitment to God. The two spent a great deal of time laughing at Jim's "funnies", praying for every one of their kids and grandkids, and walking their farm along the river. Their love for Christ was seen by all who knew them and how they raised their children. Many were blessed by how Jesus was seen in Ann's life. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Elaine Olson, her son Jeff, sister Gracia, and brother Stephen. She is survived by her husband Jim Johnson; brother David Olson; sister Beth Olson; daughter Jennifer Davis (husband Doug); son Brent Johnson; son Darin Johnson (wife Kristy); Her 10 grandchildren: Sarah Weber (Davis) and husband Nate Weber, Luke Davis and wife Maddie Davis, Becca Swenning (Davis) and husband Nick Swenning, Anna Grace Davis, Audrey Johnson, Chloe Johnson, Savannah Johnson, Macie Johson, Eli Johnson and Faith Johnson. Great-granddaughters, Willow Swenning, Kennedy Swenning, and Birdy Weber. Ann loved three things the most: the Lord her God, her people (especially family and friends), and His Creation!
