Amelia Escalera Hernandez

February 20, 1931 - April 13, 2022

Amelia Hernandez was born February 20, 1931 to Cirilo Escalera and Juanita Herrera. She was one of seven children. She married the love of her life, Juan Hernandez. They were married for more than 52 years at the time of his death in 2001. Also preceding her in death are her Great Grandson Christopher Lara, her parents, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her daughters Irma Lara, Eva Herrera, and her son Victor Hernandez, all from Kingsburg. Grandchildren Michael Lara, Chris Lara and wife Jamie Lara, Nicole Lara, Katrina Lara, Sean Herrera, Janelle Herrera, Justin Herrera, Monica Quintero and husband Eli Quintero, Olivia Blankenship and husband Chris Blankenship, Alisa Hernandez, all from various cities in California, Texas and Hawaii. Great grand children Nathan Lara, David Lara, Julie Lara, Matthew Lara, Aaliyah Jones, Junior Jones, Christen Lara, Hanna Rodriguez, Sara Rodriguez, Zariah Carrasco, Jaiven Carillo, Darian Herrera, Alessandra Gomez, Darius Gomez, Kristen Flores, Brooke Quintero, Aaren Quintero, Ian Quintero, Mia Blankenship, Joseph Blankenship, all from various cities in California and Texas. Great Great grandchildren are Krislyn Lara, Jackson Lara, Noah Jones, Ace Hamilton, Kayden French, Mia Lara, Gabriel Lara, and Leilani Gaber. Besides being a homemaker, mother, and grandmother, she belonged to La Edad De Oro of Hanford and Guadalupana of Selma where she was active in her church. Amelia was a great cook, loved to crochet and cross stitch as well as sing. She will be missed by her family and friends. Viewing for family and friends will be held 4-7pm Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Salser & Dillard on Wednesday with the Rosary to be prayed at 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1275 Smith Street, Kingsburg, with burial following at the Kingsburg Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel. Memorial Tributes and condolences may be offered by logging onto www.salseranddillard.com.
