Daniel Lynnwood McIntyre

September 20, 1949 - January 24, 2022

Dan McIntyre, Sr., 72 passed away peacefully at home on Monday January 24. He fought a hard fight and now he is home with his Savior. He is proceeded in death by his parents and his brother Mike McIntyre. He will be missed dearly by so many. On September 20, 1949 Dan was born to John McIntyre and Rosalie McIntyre (Swenson) in Kingsburg, CA. He attended Kingsburg Schools where he graduated from Kingsburg High in 1967. He was an avid diver on the Swim Team. In 1968 though his sister Peggy Carter (McIntyre), did he meet his love Jan Macari. They were married in 1969 and lived in Kingsburg, CA where shortly after their Daughter Michelle McIntyre (Shelly) was born. In 1970 Dan proudly enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country in the Vietnam War. After returning home he was stationed in Sierra Vista, AZ where Jan and little Shelly lived for the last 9 months of his service. They returned to Kingsburg where in 1972 they had their son Danny McIntyre, Jr. which completed their family. Dan enrolled in Reedley College where he got his AS Degree and then on to Fresno State to get his Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for New Holland in Fresno then later finishing his engineering career at UpRight in Selma, CA. Dan then decided to buy a ranch in Reedley where he and Jan built their dream home together and he farmed. It was there where so many memories were made with their kids and grandkids. Most Sundays were spent gathered for family dinners to enjoy Jan's amazing cooking. Whether it was swimming in the ditch or helping with grandpa's airplane he always made time for having fun with the grandkids. Dan had another love and that was a passion for flying and airplanes. It was in Reedley that he built his first Kitfox airplane. His mechanical engineering skills were again put to use. From big planes, small model airplanes to airshows his passion didn't end there. He then also got his pilots license. In 2004 they had decided to sell the ranch and move back to Kingsburg. Dan then retired and spent his time trailoring with family and friends, and spending time building his 2nd airplane. This time he built it by scratch and took such joy in tinkering out in his shop with it. Dan wasn't a man of many words but he was always there when you needed anything. His love was shown through all the time he spent with his kids and grandkids. He and Jan spent 52 years married and she was the love of his life. He will be dearly missed by all. Dan is survived by his wife Jan, daughter Michelle Vorhees(Matt) their children, Tyler Vorhees, Andrew Vorhees(Samantha) and Lauren Vorhees. His son Danny McIntyre Jr., his children Caleb Mcintyre and Logan McIntyre. He is also survived by His brother Pat Mcintyre(Jeannie), Peggy Carter, Susan Brown, Janet Yanes (Frank) and Jennifer Henley. A Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Kingsburg Cemetery, 12782 E.
