James Robert Paulsen

November 4, 1945 - October 27, 2020

James Paulsen, 74, passed away peacefully in his Kingsburg home on October 27th, 2020. Jim was born to parents Robert and Marge Paulsen on November 4th, 1945 in Kingsburg California. His life as a child was spent on a family farm east of Kingsburg. He participated in 4-H raising animals during his childhood. Jim attended school at Kings River Elementary and graduated from Kingsburg High School in 1963. He attended Reedley College and California State University of Fresno. Jim owned and operated a computer business (Agro-Business Computers) in Fresno California from 1985 until his passing. He was also a raisin farmer for most of his life working with his father on the family vineyards as well as his own vineyard since 1983. Jim was married to Lorraine Paulsen in 1982 until her passing in 2011. He is survived by his sister Connie and husband Mike Hodges, son Brook Paulsen and wife Tara, stepson Vince Oliver and wife Mayra, as well as his grandson David Paulsen. Jim was an automobile enthusiast and gravitated towards anything mechanical or speed related. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, woodworking, cooking, technology, and collecting antiques with his spouse Lorraine. He was a fan of sports and enjoyed watching San Francisco Giants games with is father and sons. Jim had a great sense of humor and always found a way to provoke laughter from anyone he spoke with. He loved his dog, and companion for the last years of his life, Buster, named after the Giants catcher. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, November 5th at 10AM at Kingsburg Cemetery 12782 E. Clarkson Ave, Kingsburg, CA. The family asks that anyone wishing to send flowers, instead donate to SpiritHorse Connections of Kingsburg or Pawsitive Connections, both being charitable organizations Jim would have appreciated receiving contributions in his honor.
