Manuel Lopez Cruz, Jr.

July 3, 1955 - March 23, 2022

The Lord called home, Manuel (Manny) Lopez Cruz Jr., on March 23, 2022, at Clovis Community Hospital. After fighting a long battle with Leukemia. He died peacefully surrounded by Lupe his spouse of 25 years and his family at his side. His life was well lived, and he was well loved! He had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up a room. He was 66 years old. Manny is survived by his college sweetheart, Guadalupe "Lupe" and siblings Sandra Cruz-Perez, (Ruben) from Hanford and Armand Cruz, (Kimberly) from Laton, and 2 nephews Aj & Roman. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel & Irene Cruz, and niece, Nezie Cruz. He was born on July 3, 1955, in Hanford, Ca. He graduated from Laton High in 1973, and went on to attend Reedley College where he graduated in 1975, with an Associate of Art degree and went to Fresno State university. Manny worked at Del Monte Canary in Kingsburg for 39 years as a forklift driver. He drove a school bus for numerous years and retired as a truck driver after he became disabled from his illness. He loved driving trucks. Manny married Lupe on April 13, 1996. They met at Reedley College on his second year. She was his soul mate and best friend! He would always call her "Honey Bunch" or his Chula". He loved their family pets Tonka, Twittie Bird, and Lucy. Manny loved to garden, woodwork, cook, BBQ and travel to Morro Bay. He loved to meet people, make new friends, and visit with his neighbors. He was a devoted Catholic with a lot of FAITH. A celebration of life for Manny is scheduled for March 31, 2022. Viewing will be held 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel, 1588 Lincoln Street, Kingsburg with the Rosary will being held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 31st, 2022 also at Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial services will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1275 Smith Street, Kingsburg immediately followed by interment at the Kingsburg Cemetery, 12782 E. Clarkson Avenue, Kingsburg. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel. Memorial Tributes and condolences may be offered by logging onto www.salseranddillard.com.
