Rodolfo (Rudy) Urias Jr. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. He was a beloved son, husband, father, and grandfather. He was a faithful man who loved the Lord, his family, church family and Walmart family. He passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at the age of 60. Rudy was born in Hanford, CA on February 27, 1961, to father Rudy Urias Sr and mother Connie Urias. He grew up in Selma in a loving home with his five siblings. Rudy was on the tennis and basketball team while attending Selma High School and graduated in 1979. Rudy met his wife Sylvia in Junior High, they became friends, their friendship continued throughout High School. It was after they graduated from High School that they started courting, fell in love, and married on September 10, 1983. Their love grew to include four beautiful children. Rudy worked in the trucking industry for 36 years. He was employed by Beacon Oil Co., Gottschalks, Beneto Tank Lines, and employed by Walmart the past 15 years. In 2020, Walmart recognized Rudy, as a Professional Driver, driving 1.5 million consecutive accident free miles. He was well respected, earning Safety Driver of the Month, and frequently selected to train and mentor new drivers. Rudy enjoyed sports, he was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan. He loved traveling with his wife, discovering BBQ places, new hamburger joints, cooking, music, ping pong and spending time with his family and friends. Rudy is survived by his wife, Sylvia of 38 years, daughter Lorissa Jimenez, and husband Ramiro, son Alexander Urias, and wife Deysi, son Nathaniel Urias, and daughter Kaitlynn Urias and five grandchildren, Payton, Zaya, Zoe Jimenez, Micah and Noah Urias, father Rudy Urias Sr., sister Susan Urias, brother Frank Urias, sister Terry Romero, brother Paul Urias and brother Ernie Urias. His mother Connie went to be with the Lord in 2000. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 "Love is patient, love is kind. It does note envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not-self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails". 1 Corinthians 13:13 "Now these three remain: Faith, Hope and Love. And the greatest of these is love". He loved whole heartedly, deeply and unconditionally. Our "Gentle Giant", his love will forever be in our hearts and greatly missed. Viewing will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Thursday, October 7th, 2021 at Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel, 1588 Lincoln Street, Kingsburg. A Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, October 8th, 2021 at Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel, 1588 Lincoln Street, Kingsburg, followed by interment at Selma Cemetery District, 2430 Floral Avenue, Selma.
