Barbara Faye Zisler

Barbara "Barbie" Faye Zisler passed away peacefully in Fresno, California on January 18, 2026, after a month-long battle for wellness at Kaiser Hospital. Barbie was born on October 7, 1958, in Escondido, California, to her loving parents, Iva and Jerry Gukeisen. When she was eight years old, her parents began what became a lifelong legacy of love through foster care. Over the years, Barbie welcomed more than five hundred foster siblings into her home and heart-an experience that shaped her deeply and later inspired her to become a foster parent herself alongside her devoted husband. As a young girl and teenager, Barbie cherished time spent at church and on family outings, always surrounded by her large, loving family. She often reminisced about weekly gatherings at her Granny and Paw's home, moments she held close to her heart. During her teen years, she enjoyed trips to the arcade and cruising around town in her yellow sports car, creating memories filled with joy and laughter. Barbara "Barbie" Faye Zisler (Gukeisen) October 7, 1958 - January 18, 2026. In May of 1978, Barbie married the love of her life, Bill Zisler, in Kingsburg, California. Together they built a beautiful family, opening their home to foster children, adopting their daughter Stephanie, and later welcoming their two daughters, Kristie and Cyndie. Barbie loved her children fiercely; she was their strength, their heart, and their guiding light. Barbie is lovingly remembered by her parents, Iva and Jerry; her husband, Bill; her daughter Kristie and son-in-law David; her grandchildren Erica, Chanel, and Ethan; her cousins; and the many foster siblings whose lives she touched. She is preceded in death by her daughter Cynthia, her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other cherished loved ones. Services will be held on Thursday, January 29th, at 2:00 p.m. Graveside at Kingsburg Cemetery 12782 E. Clarkson Ave, Kingsburg Ca. 93631. A celebration of life will follow from 3 to 5p.m. at First Baptist Church, 1615 Draper St, Kingsburg Ca 93631.
