Carmen Escoto

Carmen Escoto, 62, of Kingsburg, peacefully passed away in her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous and inspiring three-year battle with cancer. She was called to rest on February 9, 2025. Carmen was born on July 1, 1962, in Mexico, to Vicente Vargas and Soledad Cendejas. She immigrated to the United States in 1988 after marrying the love of her life, Antelmo Escoto. Together, they built a beautiful life in Kingsburg, where they lived out their American Dream. As a devoted wife of 34 years, a dedicated mother, and a loving grandmother, Carmen was the heart of her family. Her warmth, kindness, and boundless love left a mark on everyone who knew her. Carmen was a woman of deep faith, an unwaveringly positive spirit, and an immensely generous heart. Her strength, optimism, and grace will never be forgotten by her family and friends. Carmen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Antelmo Escoto, who also fought a valiant battle with cancer. Now, after their courageous struggles, they have been lovingly reunited. Carmen is also preceded in death by her mother, Soledad Cendejas. She is survived by her five children: Horacio, Annalynn, Estevan, Faith, and Ruben Escoto; her beloved daughter-in-laws, Alma Escoto, Amanda Escoto and soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Skyler Mattos. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kael, Liam, Leo, Tristan, Joaquin, and Mila Escoto, her Father, siblings, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends who will miss her dearly. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel. The Rosary will begin at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Selma, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place immediately afterward at the Kingsburg Cemetery. Carmen's legacy of love, faith, and generosity will continue to inspire all who had the honor of knowing her.
