Corly Jean Dix

Corly Jean Dix (n�e Splan), 69, of Kingsburg, California, entered into rest on November 21, 2025, surrounded by those who loved her most. Born on October 31 1956 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, she was the first of four children of Nancy Joanne Splan and the late John Peter Henry "Hank" Splan. Corly grew up in Michigan before settling in California, where she met the love of her life Paul Dix and together they built a life rooted in faith and family. She worked as a Teacher's Aide for Kingsburg Elementary School District for 27 years, touching the lives of countless students who adored her for her authenticity, humor, and kindness. A dedicated homebody, Corly loved simple joys: reading, caring for her cats, watching her favorite shows, and cooking for her family. She insisted on doing the cooking herself, even when others offered to help - because serving her family through food was one of her greatest expressions of love. Her family called her Mama Bear, a fitting name for a woman whose hugs were legendary. Corly was known for her infectious laugh, her stubborn streak, her deep compassion, and her selfless heart. She would give anything to help someone in need, even those she barely knew. Her presence was warm, genuine, and approachable - the kind of presence that made people feel instantly at ease. She never met a stranger. Her faith was the steady foundation of her life. Corly carried an unquestioning, unwavering faith in God, rooted in certainty and peace. She trusted deeply in His plan and never doubted where she was going. That assurance brought her and her loved ones great comfort. Corly leaves behind her loving husband of 50 years, Paul Alan Dix; her children Amy Dix (Justin R. Seitz) and Jason Dix (Julia Dix); her cherished grandchildren Emma, Gustavo, Jordan, and Christopher; and her beloved cat, Leland. She is also survived by her mother, Nancy Joanne Splan, and her siblings Tracy Newbury and Steve Splan. She was preceded in death by her father, Hank Splan (2003), and her brother, Greg Splan (1981). The space she leaves behind can never be filled, but the love she gave lives on in every person she touched. Viewing will be held 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM Monday, December 8th, 2025 at Church of the Nazarene, 1401 7th Avenue Drive, Kingsburg with the Funeral service starting at 11:00 AM.
