Eleanore Jeanne Dodd

Beloved mother, "Nonni", friend, and community volunteer Eleanore "Ellie" Jeanne Quattrin Dodd passed unexpectedly on August 27, 2025. Born to Robert and Jacqueline "Bob & Jackie" Quattrin on May 3, 1955. Ellie was born and raised in Kingsburg and attended local schools. She was involved in student council, choir, swim team, pep squad and GCC (Girls Athletic Club). She was the Lions Club Watermelon Festival Queen in 1972. Ellie graduated from Kingsburg High in 1973 and received the Bank of America Home Economics award. After high school Ellie attended Fresno State to pursue a degree in Home Economics and Interior Design. It was there she met Wyman Dodd, originally from Bishop, CA. Wyman and Ellie were married October 23, 1976 at St. John's Cathedral in Fresno. Ellie and Wyman had two children, Hayley Lissa Dodd, born November 8, 1981 and Blake Raymond Dodd, born March 6, 1984. Ellie was an elementary school secretary at Lincoln School in Kingsburg for 26 years, before retiring in 2012. She became a full-time grandmother "Nonni" and enjoyed her retirement. She had many hobbies to keep her busy. Ellie loved sewing, crafting, reading, gardening, traveling, collecting watermelons and volunteering in the community. She was a Viking sports and band booster, loved her green and gold and her community of Kingsburg. She was a member of the Junior Women's club, was on the Kingsburg Seawolves board that helped build the pool in Kingsburg in the 1990s, a 4-H Sewing Leader, was the chairman of the Class of 1973 reunions and gatherings, and an active member of the Kingsburg Tuesday Club. Ellie is survived by her husband of almost 49 years, Wyman Dodd; her daughter Hayley Dodd Sawatzky and sons Mason (16) and Jensen (14); her son Blake Dodd and wife Jennifer, and their three children Camryn (9), Harper (8), and Case (6). Ellie was 70 years young, and will forever live in our hearts and memories. Remembrances: The Kingsburg Tuesday Club, KHS Scholarships, P.O. Box 262, Kingsburg, CA 93631. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 12th, 2025 at Kingsburg Cemetery, 12782 E. Clarkson Avenue, Kingsburg.
