Irene C. Perez

Irene Casta�eda Perez, 83, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday December 6, 2021 in Kingsburg, California. Irene was born in La Yesca, Nayarit, Mexico on November 1, 1938 to Miguel Casta�eda and Celestina Arellano. She was one of 12 children, and is survived by two siblings: Tomas "Jose" Casta�eda (Ninfa) of Kingsburg, CA and Ofelia Rivera (Salvador - dec.) of San Ysidro, CA. Irene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She married Ramon Perez of Kingsburg in January 1975. In marriage, she became the mother to five: Alex Perez, Tony Perez, Ben Perez, Hector Perez, and Lorena Perez Garcia. Irene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and opened her home for all holidays, gatherings and special occasions. A wonderful family memory was playing Loteria at her house during Christmas and New Year's celebrations. Irene spent 35 years at Del Monte Foods in Kingsburg as a seasonal sorter. In addition to working, she enjoyed spending time in her garden where she grew cactus for nopales and her favorite flower, roses. She also had a backyard filled with many different types of fruit trees. Irene loved having her grandchildren over to play in her yard and eat her wonderful home cooking. Some of her family's favorites were her homemade pozole, menudo, rice pudding, persimmon cookies and delicious tamales. Irene is survived by her husband of 46 years Ramon Perez; her loving daughter Lorena Perez Garcia and husband Robert Garcia, their 2 dogs Mia and Luke (Leia was a passed granddog); Alex Perez and wife Lupe Perez, their children Jason Perez and wife Liv Perez (Ethan, Anders, Vivienne), Regina Kutches and husband Christopher Kutches (Xavier and Lucia Irene); Tony Perez and wife Elaine Perez, their children Stephanie Amaral and husband Joaquin Amaral (JT, Zachary, Olivia), and Anthony Perez and wife Alyssa Perez; Benjamin Perez and wife Pauline Perez, their children Cecilia Cummings and husband Thomas Cummings, Rosanna Perez Araujo and husband Art Araujo (Abel and Jacob) and Steven Perez (Daphne, Madalyn and Mia); Hector Perez and wife Maria, their children Christian and Gabby; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family would like to especially thank the following individuals who lovingly assisted in the care for Irene prior to her passing: Dr. Josie Perez, Lina Heriman, Ubaldo Avila Rivera, and the staff at Bristol Hospice. Viewing will be held from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Wednesday, December 15th, 2021 at Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel, 1588 Lincoln Street, Kingsburg followed by the Rosary held at 6:00 PM also at Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, December 16th, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1275 Smith Street, Kingsburg followed by burial at the Kingsburg Cemetery 12782 E.
