Kent Alfred Henriksen

Kent Henriksen 1931-2023 Kent Henriksen, 91, passed from his earthly life into heaven on June 21, 2023 in Selma, CA. He was born on August 19, 1931 in Fresno, CA. Kent was a loving and gentle man who was faithful to God, his family, and friends. He loved spending time with his family and didn't miss an opportunity to tell them how thankful for and proud he was of them. His encouraging, calm and humble demeanor will forever be an example to all who knew him. Kent is survived by Janet, his wife of 65 years, sister Joyce (Phil) Larson, daughter Carol (Vernon) Peterson, sons Bruce (Janet) and Lee (Kim) Henriksen, grandchildren Erik (Stephanie) Peterson, Heather (Sean) Mondello, Brittoni Ward, Nicole (Zack) Raven, Matthew Henriksen, Brooke (Blake) Jacobi, and great-grandchildren Maddie, Belle, Skylee, Micah, Rae, Von, Rylee, Knox, and Decker. Kent attended Selma elementary and high schools before pursuing further education at Lutheran Bible Institute and Northrop Aeronautical Institute. He was a pilot and aircraft enthusiast and held an Airframe & Powerplant mechanic certificate. He served as an aviation machinist in the United States Navy Reserve and worked as a machinist and mechanic on both aircraft and heavy equipment. Kent spent over 30 years of his career with Quinn Company as a mechanic, Service Manager and Technical Advisor. He greatly valued that organization and the relationships that he maintained with his coworkers long after retiring. Kent and Janet worshipped and were involved in various leadership positions at Kingsburg Covenant Church and in recent years, attended Grace Church of the Valley. Kent also attended Bible Study Fellowship and participated in their prison ministry. Despite whatever circumstances led to their incarceration, Kent did not judge and valued the time that he spent and relationships that he developed with inmates. Kent and Janet lived on their farm for over 65 years and enjoyed traveling, flying, boating, and spending time with family and friends. Their marriage epitomized what God intended. A memorial service will be held on July 7 at 10 a.m. at Grace Church of the Valley.
