It is with heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Marilyn Jeanette Martinez, who went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2026. Born on November 8, 1945, in Kingsburg, California, Marilyn had an unwavering spirit with a force of nature and lived a life filled with warmth, laughter, and generosity. Marilyn was the beloved wife of loving husband Simon Martinez, with whom she shared 43 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and companionship. Together, they created a beautiful life filled with cherished memories and adventures. Marilyn courageously raised three children as her own, giving them guidance and love throughout their lives. She is survived by husband Simon Martinez, sons Sean and Ryan Martinez, daughter Bianca Bertrand, and six adored grandchildren: Jacob, John, Luke, Allyson, Harper, and Quinn, as well as her sister, Janice Anderson. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Frank Jr. and Marie Anderson, grandparents Frank Sr. and Levina Anderson, and brother Robert "Bob" Anderson. Marilyn dedicated 35 years to Bank of America in Selma, California, where she proudly served as an Executive Loan Officer. She was respected for her professionalism, dedication, and the lasting relationships she built throughout her career. Marilyn was especially known for helping many local farmers save their ranches during difficult times, offering not only financial guidance but compassion and unwavering support to the community. She loved to travel, was an excellent cook who enjoyed cooking meals for those she loved, and spending time with her beloved dog, Boomer, whom she spoiled. She also had a creative eye and enjoyed making beautiful jewelry, as well as shopping for treasures that brought her joy and reminded her of the people she loved. Enjoying her 1923 Hot Rod and Harley rides with Simon also brought her great happiness and adventures. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Bruce Trevino and hospice nurse Clarrisa for their compassionate care, kindness, and support. Although she will be greatly missed, her family and lifelong friends find peace in knowing she is now resting in the presence of the Lord.
