Peggy Sue Liles

Peggy Sue Liles, formerly Rocker, initially Roberson at birth, was one of 5 children born to Clarence and Vera Roberson on February 23, 1960. She is survived by all four of her siblings: Sandra Wilkins, Diana Cloyd, Frank Roberson, and Floyd Roberson. She married her high school sweetheart Richard Ernest Rocker and had four children of her own; Stephanie Ann, Ashleigh Paige, Richard Nathaniel and Jarod Henry Lawrence. Her first husband, Richard Ernest, lost his battle with cancer in 2012. To everyone's delight, Peggy found love again a few years later, and married her current husband, Rodney Duane Liles in 2016. Or, as the children have recently decided to call him, Papa Du-ane! Peggy Sue was active in all of her kid's lives, until her sudden passing on October 2nd, 2024. She was a woman that drew strength from her family, and raised her children to do the same. Her grandkids, who lovingly referred to her as their "Gigi" will miss her dearly, but will also carry with them her lessons on the importance of family. She has 6 surviving grandchildren; Simon Douglas, Atlas Kade, Lukas Edward, Hayleigh Renee, Killian Reyne, and Logan Jay. Peggy Sue treated life like an adventure. She chose to soak up every experience with her grandkids that she could, as her days were filled with grandparents breakfast events at schools, soccer games on the weekends, and just a few days before her passing, she enjoyed her last night of play with them, at the Caruthers' Fair. Her family is broken-hearted as they contemplate the void of her absence in their lives. They share that they may not be able to tease her any longer for her innate ability to get lost (while following a map) or even to poke fun at her every year for celebrating "the (fill in the blank) anniversary of the year she turned 30," instead of a birthday, like everyone else. But they will undoubtedly each carry their love and laughter for her always. Peggy Sue loved to laugh and had no issue with laughing at herself, when the occasion called for it. She searched for beauty and peace in this world and found it each and every day. She also had many friends in the community; People she met during her 40 years in the workforce. People she chatted with regularly on her social media. Even people she collected in her everyday life, just going to the grocery store or while gambling at the local casinos. The family is so moved by the outpouring of messages about how Peggy Sue impacted so many others daily lives, and left an impression on them that changed them all for the better. A funeral service (with a closed casket)will be held from 1pm on Friday, October 11th at the Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel in Kingsburg, CA. The family would love everyone who knew Peggy Sue to join them for a celebration of her life. When attempting to summarize a life, we all find that it is quite difficult to be concise, as no one ever wishes to underplay any part of that life. So the family wishes to leave you all with this... It is not what a person did, or what a person said, that truly impacts the lives they touched along the way... it is how a person made you feel. Peggy Sue Liles made those around her feel seen and heard, and most importantly, she made them all feel loved. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Friday, October 11th, 2024 at Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel, 1588 Lincoln Street, Kingsburg with the Service Of Remembrance services starting at 1:00pm also at Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel, 1588 Lincoln Street, Kingsburg.
