Peggy Jean White

Peggy Jean White, age 88, of Kingsburg, CA passed away peacefully with family by her side on September 14th, 2022. She was born on October 29, 1933 in Pixley, CA to Lonnie and Tempie Price. Growing up in Tulare, CA, Peggy had one older brother, Bill Price. She attended high school in Tulare where she was active in band as a majorette. While growing up in Tulare, Peggy met Dana White in junior high and the two became high school sweethearts. Shortly after high school, they were married and began welcoming their four children: Dana Jr., David, Robin, and Doug. Peggy and Dana moved to Kingsburg in 1960 and were active in the community. They were members of the Methodist Church where Peggy taught Sunday school. After being a dedicated stay at home mom raising her children, Peggy ventured into the education field and worked as a teacher's aide. She retired from Washington Elementary in Kingsburg after working there for over 20 years. Peggy will be remembered for the love, generosity, and kindness she shared with those around her. She was the glue that held the family together. Every holiday, birthday, or celebration you could think of, she would have the family over at her house with a meal that could feed the town. Christmas was especially magical. Each year she would put out exquisite decorations and be up at dawn to watch the kids open presents. It has even been said by her children that they could hear Santa's sleigh bells directly outside the house. She had a way of making every moment special and making everyone feel loved and important. Peggy was deeply loved by her family, friends, and community and will be greatly missed by all those that loved her. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Dana White Sr. in 2019. She is survived by her son Dana White Jr. and his wife, Lola; son David White; daughter Robin White; and son Douglas White. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Kyle White, Craig White, Jamie White, Kara Meyer, Krystian White, and Kailee White, as well as six great-grandchildren. A special thank you goes out from the White family to the Kingsburg Care Center and AseraCare Hospice for their roles in Peggy's life. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 22nd, 2022 at Kingsburg Cemetery, 12782 E. Clarkson Avenue, Kingsburg.
