Rosemary Galvan Miller

Rosemary Galvan Miller, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on October 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on December 22, 1946, to Blas and Maria de Jesus Galvan, the second youngest of 11 children. Rosemary grew up in Selma, California, where she graduated from Selma High School in 1965. During her high school years, she was active and spirited serving as a Pom Pom Girl, playing alto saxophone in both the band and swing band, and participating in the Homemaking and Spanish Clubs. Rosemary married Dale G. Miller in Selma on November 20, 1976. The couple celebrated the birth of their only child, Jennifer, in May of 1977. Rosemary was a proud stay-at-home mom for many years, devoting herself to her family and creating a warm, loving home filled with laughter and care. Early in her career, Rosemary was a friendly face behind the counter at Fox Drug Store. She furthered her education at Reedley College and later at California State University, Fresno, where she proudly earned her bachelor's degree in 1998 and her teaching credential in 1999. She dedicated much of her life to education, working as a Teacher's Aide and Library Aide, and later, as a substitute teacher for nearly 20 years in Selma Unified School District. A lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rosemary shared her faith through service and music. She sang in the church choir, was an active member of the Catholic Women's Club, and helped prepare children for their First Communion. Rosemary's hobbies reflected her creativity and love of life. She found joy in gardening, reading, sewing, embroidery, and playing tennis. She also loved board games and puzzles, which she often enjoyed with family and friends. Rosemary valued the 17 years of companionship she shared with her beloved dog, Lola. Above all, she treasured spending time with her granddaughters, Allison and Annabella, who brought endless joy and pride to her life. A two-time survivor of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Rosemary faced her battles with courage and grace. She participated in a stem cell clinical trial at UCSF in 1999 that advanced treatment options for others facing similar diagnoses, a testament to her selfless and resilient spirit. Rosemary was preceded in death by her late husband, Dale G. Miller. She is survived by her beloved daughter Jennifer Miller-McColm, her son-in-law Michael McColm, and her cherished granddaughters Allison and Annabella McColm. She will be remembered for her gentle heart, her unwavering faith, and the love she shared with all who knew her. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Creighton Chapel.
